Dangote Group committed to Peaceful coexistence with Host Communities

Dangote Group of companies has reiterated commitment to live peacefully with its host communities.

 

The Company’s Group General Manager Operations, Malam Bello Danmusa made this known during a stake holders’ meeting held in Numan town.

 

 

The Group General Manager Operations malam Bello Danmusa said building a good and strong relationship with host communities is a topmost priority of Dangote Groups hence the need for the stake holders meeting.

 

 

Danmusa said, the Dangote Sugar refineries, Numan had been working closely with the host communities in the areas of education and empowerment through its various schemes that are aimed at improving their lives to bring about development to the areas.

 

 

According to him, the company will continue to engage them because that creates avenue where both parties can meet, discuss issues and proffer lasting solutions for peaceful coexistence and development of the company, the host communities as well as the state and the nation at large.

 

 

Speaking on the essence of the stake holders meeting, the Community relations manager of Dangote Sugar Refinery Numan, Mr. Daniel Andrew said the meeting which was initiated by the Dangote group is a quarterly engagement with all the stakeholders from the host communities, aimed at maintaining the harmonious relationship being enjoyed by company and the communities.

 

 

He noted that the stakeholders engagement will go a long way in maintaining a balance in idea sharing and give a sense of belonging to both parties.

 

 

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Chief Executive officer, Dangote Sugar Refinery Numan, Mr. Chinnaya Silvain said Dangote group decided to come up with the strategy of engaging all the stakeholders every three months to familiarize with members of the host communities and intimate them on its activities and plans for the development of the communities.

 

 

He called on the participants to take advantage of the gathering and interact freely with the company’s officials on issues that are beneficial to the company as well as the communities.

 

 

The district head of Borrong, Chief Lawsan Gadiel Nayina said the engagement is actually helping in strengthening the relationship between the company and its surrounding communities.

 

 

He added that engaging and empowering members of those communities will not only help to maintain peace, but also bring about development in the area.
