Governor Amadu Fintiri of Adamawa State alongside prominent Islamic Scholars have added their voice on the need to bring to an end the lingering litigation against Dr Imam Idris Abdul’aziz Dutsen Tanshi.
Governor Fintiri has earlier today led a delegation of scholars including Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, Sheikh Kabiru Gombe, Sheikh Abdulwahab Kano and held a closed door meeting with Governor Bala Mohammed in Government House Bauchi.
Addressing Journalists after the meeting Governor Amadu Fintiri said they were at the Government House to discuss and find a lasting solution on the lingering case against the Bauchi based scholar which attracted reactions from across the country.
He appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed for his understanding by granting the audience to the parties involved in the interest of peace.
On his part Governor Bala Mohammed who said religion is a sensitive issue which has multidimensional implications thanked the scholars for giving him and Dr. Idris Abdul’aziz the benefit of doubt.
The meeting also has in attendance the state commissioner of police Musa Muhammad Auwal, Director State Security Service Husaini Abdullahi, the State Chief Judge Justice Rabiu Talatu Umar and representatives of Tijjaniya Sect.
Radio Nigeria gathered that the court has earlier today granted the bail of Imam Idris Abdul’aziz.
