Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has pledged to continuosly encourage the families of fallen heroes who dedicated their lives in protecting the Nation.
Governor Ahmadu stated this during the launching of the 2025 emblem of the Armed forces remembrance day held in the council chamber, government house yola.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said there is also need to show and demonstrate love to those who are still serving and to assure them that they are not standing alone at the battle fronts.

Governor fintiri announced that the state government will provide free medical service to members of the Legion facing one challenge or the other and the state’s skills acquisition centre is open for their members to learn entrepreneurship and skill so as to become self employed and reliant.
He therefore thanked all security agencies in their efforts to subdue all security threats across the state and the country as he donated the sum of fifty million naira for the launching of the emblem.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Adamawa State Legion Warrant Officer Ali Mohammed retired said the event is a continuation of a worthy tradition of recognizing and appreciating the sacrifices of the falling heroes during the First and Second World War, peacekeeping and internal security operations particularly war on insurgency in the northeast region of the country.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Head of Service, Pharmacist Isa Ardo said the essence of the event is to honor the gallant men and women of the armed forces who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for the peace and security of the nation.
Ardo who appreciated the state government for its efforts in supporting the armed forces, noted that the day also served as a solid reminder of the courage, loyalty and patriotism displayed by the falling heroes.
There were donations and pledges during the event by the Deputy governor, SSG, Chief of staff, commissioners, advisers, local government chairman, chairmen and members of boards and commissions amongst others.
