Governor Fintiri Charges Newly Elected Council Chairmen on Security, Development, Inclusive Governance

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has urged newly elected local government chairmen in the state to prioritize security, development, and the welfare of their people.

He made the call when the chairmen paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Yola

.

Governor Fintiri said local governments remain key partners in state development, regardless of political differences, and urged the chairmen to align their activities with government policies aimed at improving the lives of citizens.

Expressing concern over security challenges in parts of the country, he directed them to strengthen security efforts in their councils, particularly around schools in remote and vulnerable communities.

 

The Governor also advised prudent management of public resources, inclusive governance, and warned against victimisation of political opponents.

Responding on behalf of the chairmen-elect, the Chairman-elect of Michika Local Government Area, Danbiyu Tumba, said the visit was to appreciate the Governor for ensuring a peaceful environment for the conduct of the elections.

Tumba commended the Governor’s leadership and development programmes and assured him of their loyalty, support, and commitment to the development of Adamawa State.
