Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved the constitution of the Government Delegation for the 2026 Christian Pilgrimage to the Holy Land, according to an official statement released on Thursday.
The delegation is chaired by His Royal Majesty Johnson Diyo Matalo, the Gubo Yungur, and comprises prominent religious and political figures from the state.
The committee members include Senator Reverend Amos Yohanna, Honourable Japhet Hammajabu, and Mr. Samuel Chinda. Reverend Father Anselm Kachalla also joins the delegation, while Dr. Bartholomew Nyalas has been appointed to serve as Secretary.
The approval was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, in Yola.
While congratulating the delegation on their appointments, Governor Fintiri charged members to uphold the highest standards of integrity, discipline, and patriotism in the discharge of their assignment.
The Governor further advised the committee to work closely with the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission and other relevant authorities to ensure the welfare and safety of all pilgrims from Adamawa State.
Governor Fintiri called on members of the delegation to justify the confidence reposed in them by being transparent, accountable, and focused on the spiritual objectives of the pilgrimage.
The Governor reiterated the commitment of his administration to continue supporting religious activities that promote peace, unity, and moral values in the state.
The Adamawa State Government remains dedicated to fostering religious harmony and ensuring the spiritual wellbeing of its citizens through various support initiatives and programmes.
