Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has called on Government at all levels to encourage Youth entrepreneurship.

The Governor, made the call when he joined the Nigerian youth on Saturday to mark International Youth Day which is  celebrated annually on August 12.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru  Fintiri in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou praised the perseverance of the Youth and thanked them for their contributions to the country’s growth, with a call on the youth in the state  to key into the agricultural initiatives of the state government  in order to ensure the nation’s continued access to nutritious food.

He said when costs of basic foodstuff are on the rise, it is crucial that the young people direct more of their attention and resources on farming.

Governor Fintiri said, it must be understood that Nigerian youth are essential to securing National Development as there are many recognized ways  which they’d contributed to the country’s progress.

The Governor notes that, It is the desire of his administration to inspire Young people to be creative, innovative, hands-on, determined, and dynamic towards ensuring water and food security.

He said, the Governments at all levels must also encourage Youth entrepreneurship centered on food supply, water conservation, healthy food production, and the generation of energy needed to engage people in productive ventures.

While raising concerns on the State of the Nation, Governor Fintiri said, priority must be given to agricultural and sustainable food production not just to fulfill personal requirements, but also to sell to the rest of the world, if there is a hope to reach the level achieved by the developed nations.

He added that, In order to reduce this disparity, it will take major contributions from all sectors, especially young people, in the areas of inventiveness, activism, and agricultural advancements.
