INEC DISTRIBUTES SENSITIVE AND NONE SENSOTIVE MATERIALS AHEAD OF APRIL 15TH APRIL RE- RUN ELECTIONS-

The Independent National Electoral commission, INEC in Adamawa state have distributed election materials for the re-run of governorship and supplementary state constituency elections in the state.

The distribution of sensitive and non-sensitive materials is the last stage in preparations for the exercise which is scheduled to take place on Saturday 15th April 2023.

 

During the distribution of the election materials, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC, Barrister Hudu Yunusa Ari said   in its efforts to conduct a free, fair and credible re-run of governorship and state supplementary constituency elections in some local governments in the state, the commission had made series of consultations in order to conduct a hitch free exercise.

 

He said stake holders had been engaged as well as security agencies to give updates of its preparations as well as security reports and assurance.

 

Yunusa Ari called on the electorates to maintain peace and order while coming out to cast their votes.

 

Commenting on the materials distributions, the chairman, Inter party committee in the state, malam xxxxx said he is satisfied with the distribution exercise and is confident that INEC will deliver.

 

While calling on the people of Adamawa state to remain law abiding and good ambassadors of peace during the exercise, he equally advised the independent national electoral commission to announce and declare the winner of the elections immediately.

 

Governorship election in Adamawa state was declared inconclusive on the 28th of March 2023 after election failed to hold in some units while other units witnessed some irregularities and election malpractices leading to the cancellation of election in the units.

 

The governorship election re-run will be conducted in 69 polling units across 20 local governments, while the state constituency election will hold in only four local governments in the state.
