The traditional ruler of the Adamawa Emirate Council, Lamido Fombina, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha says enhanced network services, lower calls and data tariff charges will go a long way in fighting insecurities in the country.
Lamido Fombina, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha made this known at a Telecom Consumer Conversation Village Square Dialogue themed Know your right as Telecom Consumers organized by the Nigeria Communication Commission, NCC, in Yola, Adamawa State.
Lamido Fombina, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, represented by the spokesperson of the Fombina Emirate Council, Kakakey Fombina, Professor Abba Tahir in a goodwill message while commending NCC for coming down to the grassroot to dialogue with its consumers decried the level of criminal activities perpetrated using mobile phones and called for inward review on consumers protection,calls and network tariff.
In a paper presentation, Director, Consumer Affairs Bureau, NCC, Alkasim Umar said the commission is poised towards protecting the Rights of its consumer, urging consumers to log onto the commission’s website and various social media platforms to lodge their complains.
He also revealed a new strategy called mobile network portability for enhanced service delivery to Consumers.
Representatives of various network providers in Nigeria Yusuf Shetima, Daniel Kutsu commended NCC for the initiative and encouraged their consumers to lodge their complains in their various offices and outlets for enhanced service delivery.
Telecom Consumers from various local government areas of Adamawa State present at the dialogue, expressed gratitude to NCC for recognizing their worth and pleaded with the network providers to work in improving their various network Services.
Consumers were optimistic that mobile network services in Nigeria, if enhanced will go a long way in stemming insecurities and protect consumers from activities of fraudsters in the country
