The Chief Imam of the Police Barracks Juma’at Mosque, CSP Ahmadu Suleiman, has called on the Muslim Ummah to hold firmly to prayer, describing it as a highly esteemed act of worship that brings both reward and divine intervention.
Delivering his Friday sermon, Imam Suleiman said prayer occupies a central place with Allah SWT and serves as the believer’s most powerful weapon.
Quoting the Prophet SAW, he reminded the congregation that prayer is a cure for both what has already occurred and what is yet to come, urging Muslims to intensify supplications for Allah’s intervention in addressing the nation’s security challenges.
Citing the Qur’anic injunction to call upon Allah with the assurance that He will respond, the cleric cautioned worshippers against doubting Allah after making supplications, stressing that Allah is displeased with those who fail to call upon Him.
Imam Suleiman encouraged Muslims to turn to prayer when seeking sustenance, knowledge, dignity, or relief from hardship.
He also call on parents to seek Allah’s guidance and protection for their children through prayer, particularly against the growing menace of drug abuse, which he described as the root of many social vices.
Imam Suleiman further urged the faithful to engage in acts of charity and shun all deeds prohibited by Allah.
The Imam concluded by praying for lasting peace, national progress, and the peaceful conduct and successful conclusion of the forthcoming elections.
