Governor Agbu Kefas has taken bold steps to transform Taraba state through the implementation of the Taraba Development Master Plan 2024.
On Friday, 1st November 2024, the governor met with stakeholders and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the President of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation at the TY Danjuma House, Asokoro Abuja.
The governor said he is confident that his government’s partnership with the Chinese Company would unlock the potential of Taraba state.
According to him, the ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Danbaba Suntai airport in Jalingo, which is the gateway to the state, is a demonstration of his commitment towards transforming the state.
Governor Kefas expressed hope that in no distant time the state would take the lead in energy distribution, pointing out that a new hydro power project with the Civil Engineering Construction Corporation will be launched to distribute energy to the state and other parts of the country.
The governor said by working with the construction company, Taraba state can expand it’s roads networks, improve transportation systems, manage it natural resources, and drive the state economy for the interest of all.
Responding, President of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, Chan Sichang who was represented by Chief Executive Director of the Company, Joe Dongping said their partnership with the Taraba state Government is a remarkable step towards the development of the state.
He said they understand the importance of infrastructure to the progress and prosperity of Taraba state hence, they are willing to serve the state.
Also commenting on the development of the Master Plan, Engineer Alex Oniegbu said the master plan extends beyond Jalingo the state capital making provisions for the development of senatorial zones and all the sixteen local government areas of the state.
He added that with their experience in constructing Abuja Phase Two Master Plan and other projects, he is optimistic that Taraba state would be a force to reckon with in terms of development when the project is completed.
