Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has canvassed for peaceful coexistence amongst residents of the state.
The governor made the appeal when he received a delegation from Yola south local government of the state who paid him a thank you visit at the government house.
Governor Ahmadu fintiri said his administration will do everything within its powers to sustain the existing peace in the state.
The governor said the period of campaigns is over hence the need to focus on what will benefit the people of the state.
He warned that on no account should anyone try to distract the attention of the people by fomenting trouble in the name of politics.
He called on the people of the state to respect the laws of the land and remain law abiding at all times.
The governor used the opportunity to remind traditional rulers of the ban on cutting down trees, stressing that government government will not sit and watch while the ecosystem is being destroyed.
The leader of the delegation, who is equally the chairman of Yola south Local Government, Engineer Hamidu Muhammed, said the delegation was at the government house to pay a thank you visit and to appreciate the governor for identifying with them in his administration, especially for the appointment of the Secretary to the State Government, Auditor General and the Chief of Staff.
He assured the governor that yola south is with him, thanking Allah for the victory at the polls and prayed for more opportunities to serve under the Fintiri led administration.
He equally appealed for more developmental projects in the local government and the state in its entirety.
