National Population commission Gombe office sets to begin e-birth registration

The National Population Commission NPC says it has concluded plans to begin e-birth registration exercise in Gombe state.

 

Speaking during an interview with radio Nigeria Jewel fm Gombe in his office the director National Population Commission in the state Mr. Jude Maigari said the exercise would be conducted in all the 114 wards across the state.

 

Mr. Jude Maigari said the e-birth registration is scheduled to commence on Monday the 28th of the month of August in the state and it will last for 15 days with option to extend where necessary.

 

The director said the exercise is a continuous one across the centers which include primary health care centres and NPC offices where the NPC trained staff were deployed.

 

Mr. Maigari further explained that children from zero to five years and even beyond are allowed to register.

 

He added that the commission in collaboration with National Orientation Agency NOA Gombe office worked out modalities to in the sensitisation of the people especially in the rural areas.

 

Jude Maigari also commented the UNICEF for their intervention especially in the training of their staff which he said it will assist the commission to record success in the birth registration exercise.

 

While responding the director National Orientation Agency Gombe office Mrs. Adeline Waye Patari said it is the responsibility of the agency to sensitized people on the government policies and programs with e-birth registration is intended.

 

She noted the important of engaging religious and traditional leaders in sensitisation of people all over the state.

 

Mrs. Adeline Waye Patari therefore stressed the need for people to cooperate and come out in mass to register their children as it has a lot of benefit towards the government policies and programms.
