Adamawa State Gov’t pledges to lift Citizens out of poverty.

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said his administration will lift  2000 people out of poverty every month in the state.

The Governor made this known during a civic reception held in Jada local government area, in honor of the member representing Mayo Belwa, Jada, Ganye and Toungo federal Constituency, Mohammed Inuwa Basi.

Governor Fintiri said his administration will put everything in place in order to pull the people of the state from the shackles of poverty.

Governor Fintiri said his administration will through various capacity building programmes, empower women and youths in the state.

He said government will renovate about 100 secondary schools in the state and prioritize girl-child education.

He added that the state government is working out ways to address challenges faced by the removal of fuel subsidy.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri explained that in order to ensure that the people did not experience further hardship as a result of fuel subsidy removal, it has constituted a committee that will work out ways to assist them in order to cushion the effects of the policy.

Governor Fintiri said his administration will ensure that no one stands in its way in addressing the security situation in the state.

He said government will not rest on it oars unless all developmental activities in the state have been achieved especially in health and education sectors.

Governor Fintiri also advised Inuwa Basi to meet up to the expectations of his constituents, while calling on the people of the constituency to support him during his tenure as their representative.

The chairman of the occasion and Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Barrister Awwal Tukur described Inuwa Basi as a doer who can be relied on in meeting up his responsibilities as a representative.

He called on the people of the constituency to give the fintiri- led administration all the needed support in governing the state.

In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Modibbo Adama University, Yola Professor Abdullahi Liman Tukur who was the guest speaker at the event, described Mohammed Inuwa Basi’s representation of a large constituency like theirs at the national assembly as a pushing strength towards actualizing meaningful development of the constituency and the state at large.

He called on the people to support him in moving the constituency forward.

Earlier in his Welcome address, the chairman Jada local government council, Salihu Muhammad Soho thanked all dignitaries who graced the occasion.

He described Inuwa Basi’s victory as a great task championed by the state governor.

According to him, Basi is a prominent stakeholder in the political sphere of Adamawa state, hence the need for the grand reception.

While thanking Governor Fintiri for the recent appointments, the chairman called on the people of Adamawa state to support the administration as it journeys through the second tenure.

In his goodwill message, the dean faculty of Social Sciences, Mass Communications department, University of Maiduguri, Professor Danjuma Gambo congratulated Basi and thanked God almighty for his victory at the polls.

He also advised the people to always pray for the elected leaders irrespective of religious or political affiliation for the development of the state.

In his remarks, Inuwa Basi thanked the people of his constituency for the mandate given to him and promised to ensure effective and meaningful representation.
