African Activists for Climate Justice in Nigeria, have described data as the most important tool in mitigating the effects of climate change issues through Community and Government approach for a successful Climate Justice Campaign, calling on relevant stakeholders to join in the Campaign.
Project lead, Kenneth Akpan made the call in an interview with Radio Nigeria Fombina News at a two-day Climate Justice Audit meeting and training for data agents in Yola Adamawa State.
While lauding the Federal Government for passing the climate act,The Project Lead, African Activists for Climate Justice in Nigeria, Kenneth Akpan expressed delight over the level of commitment shown by the participants adding that climate change have come to stay hence the need for the Community and Government approach to win the fight for Climate Justice.
On his part, Project Officer Global Initiative for Food Security and Ecosystem Preservation, Joseph Ibrahim stressed the need to raise awareness on the effects of climate change issues in the country for a successful Climate Justice Campaign.
Participants at the two-day training who were members of the Community in Adamawa State and members of the Civil Society Organisations said the Community and Government approach in the fight for Climate Justice is a winning approach and pledged their commitment for successful Climate Justice Campaign.
The fight for Climate Justice will in no measure help protect,conserve the forest and achieve food security.
The campaign is an initiative of Global Initiative for Food Security and Ecosystem Preservation with support from OXFAM and African Activists for Climate Justice.
